IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of technology. Founded in 1963 by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and Institute of Radio Engineers, today it’s known for its development of computer and electronics standards. Through global membership in combination with years of potential community growth, members include students to professionals ranging from computer scientists, software developers, information technology professionals, physicists, and medical doctors.
To foster an interest in the engineering profession, the IEEE also serves student members in colleges such as San Diego State University. Membership in IEEE entitles you to a vast source of technical and professional information to regional resources (such as this student branch) to services to help develop and advance your professional career.
About San Diego State University’s Student Branch:
We strive to bring hands-on learning, practical experience, and teamwork and leadership opportunities to our students. General body meetings are held once every Month and is to be announced a few weeks prior. This is done to accommodate those who are unable to make the same meetings every week, giving all students to attend at least one meeting throughout the semester. Projects are student led. New project proposals are welcomed and encouraged, and should be shared at the project meetings.
